Tribes urged to forgive each other

The Hela police commander is appealing to people in the province to take this festive season as a time for forgiveness and peace, and to make amends in the tribal fighting areas.

Provincial Police Commander Mark Yangen in his Christmas address told the tribesmen and women to forgive and forget any conflicts or tensions that occurred this year.

He urges them to focus on making the New Year a good one that can foster an environment of development for the new province.

PPC Yangen says that the most important gift which the warring clansmen can give each other is peace so that they can move on and focus on more important activities that can bring opportunities to their people.

So far the province has been relatively quiet; however police are still monitoring the trouble spots in the province.
