Reshuffle police hierarchy but keep Bawa in NCD

 Wanbel Niape
Boroko, NCD

THE latest development in the police hierarchy reshuffle all looks good except for one which I am not convinced at all.
And that is the transfer of Met Supt Andy Bawa out of Port Moresby.
If the good Police Commission can look back at the records, Port Moresby used to be one of the most unsafe places with its high level of crime under all past commands until Bawa was appointed Commander then Community Programs were initiated and we started seeing a reduce in crime rates and activities today in the nation’s capital.
And to remove someone who has done exceptionally well and beyond public expectations means something is not right with his transfer and I would not be surprised if the senior detectives, Timothy Gitua and Mathew Damaru of the National Fraud Anti-Corruption Directorate get their transfer orders too soon.
I am of the opinion that the current reshuffle and transfer of Bawa is politically motivated by politicians whom recently were rumored to be arrested for their cases which are still before the courts.
We are no longer blind but intelligent just as you are with your political masters, Baki.
Even with Bawa’s replacement, we the NCD public knew little or nothing about a ‘Ben Turi’.
Who is Turi and what was his last position?
What record has he set to convince us that he can do well than Bawa to police the capital city?
I urge Baki to revoke Bawa’s transfer and to explain his motive behind Bawa’s transfer or provide facts and evidence to convince the NCD public.
Otherwise, this is another political plot executed by the commissioner to serve his political masters who had sleepless nights sweating and thinking too much of their arrest warrants as their faith is soon to be known.
I have lost trust and respect for Baki.
