Semi-trailer
transporting pipes to Hides Gas Project Areas in Hela Province slipped
off the Highway and caused damages and nearly killed pedestrians.
The
accident happened at last week at Tindom Hill where heavy pipes on the
semi-trailer fell off the semi-trailer and into the nearby bushes.
Locals
are calling on the transport companies travelling into the mining areas
to take extra precaution when travelling on this part of the Highlands
highway.
Last
month a company escort vehicle bumped into a house while the owners
were still sleeping. Fortunately no one was injured in this incident.
In
light of these recent accidents, villagers want the appropriate
authorities to upgrade this section of the road before any lives are
lost.
