The proposed 45km road from Hiri (Margarima) to Lai Valley will be out on Tender soon.

Jeffery Tom
There are rumors at the corridors of Waigani and Mendi/Tari that the proposed 45km road from Hiri (Margarima) to Lai Valley will be out on Tender soon. From public hear-say which appears to be reliable, someone has already been identified to be the successful bidder and possible contractor. Its not a surprise as this is common in SHP/Hela and PNG.

My concern is there has been many complains about Hela's falling victim to those living along the corridors of Mendi-Tari road. Many intellectuals and concerned Hela elites have been very vocal for an alternative route to isolate certain areas of the current road.

If the identified contactor is awarded the contract, the dream of having alternative road will never eventuate as this company to be awarded appears to be politically linked and the plight for the people of Hela will be allowed to die a political death in the face of corruptions and wantok system.

2013 must be a year for all Hela's to rise and put their respective MP's including the governor on notice now. So many media propaganda must die in 2012 if Hela is to rise with a new vision and purpose. If Hela doesn't rise within the next five years then lets not criticize others because part of the problem is us - appointing leaders whose interest in not Hela but themselves......

Happy new year 2013 to you all from the tip of Agali Village (Lake Kopiago) to the plains of Musual/Waliago village (Bosavi) to the frontiers of Toan/Obal-Lower Wage.
