Task Force Sweep Team made one more arrest Thursday.
Peter
Tokunai, principal owner of Islands Energy Limited was arrested and
charged with one count of misappropriation, one count of false pretence
and one count of money laundering.
He
is alleged to have received a cheque of 1.5 million kina from the
National Planning and Monitoring Department in 2011 and diverted most it
to private use.
Investigations
revealed that he colluded with senior officers within the department
and received the cheque to reconstruct St Joseph Catholic Church in
Malaguna 2, Rabaul.
The church remains incomplete with all funds depleted for private use.
