Hela police arrested two men found to be in the procession of 2 high powered guns.
The two, aged 34 and 49, were alleged to have smuggled the weapons from Wabag to be used in the Komo area of Hela.
Police arrested the two after they raided a camp where the two were hiding during the early hours of this morning.
Hela police commander Mark Yangen tells PNG Loop that the two men had been on the run from police after they tried to instigate fighting in the area late last year.
Yangen says that the men were camped on the outskirts of Wabia village when police raided their camp.
Police have the weapons and the men are locked up.
Meanwhile, the area since last weekend has been quiet despite two fights going on in the area.
