Sopas Hospital transforms into Nursing College

Work is in progress to transform what use to be the Sopas SDA Hospital in Enga into a Nursing College.
The hospital had been closed down for some years over tribal fights and destruction to buildings. The health facility was then sold out to the Enga Provincial Government.
Governor Ipatas Works Minister Francis Awesa visited the once frequently operational Sopas SDA run hospital. They also met with staff and students on hand.

This hospital will now be turned into a Nursing College. With construction phase already underway, Governor Ipatas said Wabag District Hospital will also be transferred to Sopas. The Department of Works will also construct roads for the proposed Sopas Nursing College and hospital next year. The first intake of students will start next year too.

A new provincial hospital will be constructed at Yaipos in Wabag. Mr. Ipatas and Mr. Awesa were in Wabag recently for the ground-breaking ceremony for Wabag town roads. Minister Awesa used the opportunity to urge all political heads to allocate funds to buy machines for road works.
Governor Ipatas welcomed the gesture; it supports the sentiments that Wabag is a fast growing town.
