Former Member for Lake Koroba Kopiago John Kekeno escaped arrest from the National Fraud and Anti-corruption squad last Friday morning.
Investigating officers were at the Waigani Court House to make the arrest but he escaped, added by supporters.
Director of Fraud and Anti –Corruption Squad, Chief Inspector Timothy Gitua said Kekeno is answerable to the misappropriation of K7 million for RESI funds in 2009.
Mr Kekeno was the Chairman of the Joint District Budget Priorities Committee than.
Inspector Gitua is appealing now to the leader to show up for questioning.
Recently, the Lake Koroba Kopiago District Treasurer and the District Administrator were arrested in relation to the RESI funds and are awaiting appearance in the National Court.
