Housing For Police Service Jiwaka Province

POLICE in Banz and Nondugl will now have proper homes for their families, says Acting Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Joseph Tondop.
Supt Tondop commended North Wahgi District under the leadership of Defence Minister Dr Fabian Pok for taking the initiative to deliver the fabricated homes to his policemen.
He said now with the new homes, the policemen and women have no excuses but to carry out their duties to enforce law and order.
Supt Tondop said the lack of proper infrastructure was a big problem nationwide.
He said the Banz and Nondugl police were more fortunate than others after the District Authority made decision to give them better housing.
He said Jiwaka being a new province needed all the local MPs and elites to contribute towards the development of the province and to create a conducive environment for the future generations.
Supt Tondop said the police, while enforcing law and order, also help pave the way for development to come into the province, adding that if law and order was rampant in the province, this would prevent vital services from reaching the people.
Supt Tondop said the consumption of illicit drugs and illegal home-brew must now stop in the communities, saying that these activities were already becoming a norm, leaving many innocent people to live in fear. Supt Tondop said there were many illegal activities happening in the communities, but if these are not reported to police, this trend will continue. He said Dr Pok has prioritised law and order by providing better housing for the policemen and women. He commended Dr Pok for being a leader with a vision for recognised the need to provide better police housing.
Supt Tondop called on the communities to assist police address law and order issues at the community level.
