THE Enga chapter of the
Papua New Guinea-Australia Alumni Association (PNGAAA) has been
announced as the biggest in the country with more than 121 regular
members.
PNGAAA president David
Kava-namur said during the official launching of the Enga chapter of the
PNGAAA last Friday that the significant increase in the membership by
Engans in the last 10 years reflected the province’s outstanding human
resources development policy.
“I am not surprised to
see Enga becoming the biggest chapter of the PNGAAA. This is expected to
happen because of its increasing enrolment at leading universities
abroad, particularly in Australia. The bottom line is the province’s
successful education policy,” Dr Kavanamur said.
The PNGAAA was formed 10
years ago as a forum for PNG students who had undertaken studies in
Australia to discuss important issues concerning leadership, education
and how assistance from both countries can be extended to their people.
