Polye’s Triumph party launched




MEMBERS loyal to the newly launched Triumph Heritage Empowerment Rural Party (T.H.E) want to see their Party Leader Don Polye lead Papua New Guinea for the next five years as Prime Minister.
THE Party was officially launched in style at the Granville Motel in Port Moresby yesterday backed by 19 of the 22 Members of Parliament that are part of the Party. This is the Party which has Don Pomb Polye as the Parliamentary Leader. A convention immediately followed which will continue this morning.
Yesterday, all regional party presidents and vice presidents who were formerly National Alliance members spoke of their reason for choosing and aligning with Mr Polye.
Mr Polye in his inaugural speech presented draft policies of the Party which will be finalized today by about 120 members that have been flown in from all over PNG.
The draft policies include,Integral human development,improve essential services vocations, permanent housing policy, law and order, reforming and improving service delivery systems, human rights policy (new), infrastructure development, health care, basic education, foreign policy (modernising strategic partnership) and, growth of diversified economy
”I am here to express my profound and sincere gratitude and I am so thankful to you (these MPs) before me. You did not run away from me, you stood tall with me and I owe it all to you, I salute you, we have come this far. I just want to do nothing but lead you, I am so imperfect but look, I want to lead you as a person, as your family, in your private life, public life, I want to lead you but there’s something we need to do together, the country cannot move forward if we don’t work hard,” Mr Polye kept stressing.
“I have a policy that will target family, churches, focusing on trying to restore Christian values, the churches to give counseling on the value of the family unit as family is the foundation of a stable society, improved standard of living, address current and future global issues such as climate change, environment and wildlife conservation and reshape and remould the PNG identity,” he said.
All MPs present for the launch and convention included Mark Maipakai (Party Leader Southern), Tom Olga (WHP), James Gau (Madang), Benjamin Mul (Jiwaka), Andrew Mald (Moresby North West), Philip Kikala, Mathew Poiya, Pitom Bombom, Sali Subam, Sai Beseo, David Arore, Miki Kaeok, Yawa Silupa, Buka Malai, Michael Sapau (Manus Governor) and absent were Ano Pala, Peter Humphreys (WNB) and Leo Dion (ENB) who were out on duty and medical travels.
Party executives were also voted which included Douglas Tomuriesa as the president, women leader from East New Britain Bungtabu Brown as the vice, James Kiele Secretary-General and Treasurer Luke Kembo.
The Party constitution was also distributed.
Among the laws detailed in the Constitution were issues concerning conduct of MPs and general members, the application of the provisions of the organic law on the Integrity of Political Parties, its objectives and purposes.
“I want a policy to improve the salary, working and living conditions for all professional public servants, a rural and urban housing scheme, strengthening the village court system through improving salaries and living conditions, strengthening existing delivery systems by DSIP, promoting gender equity, free education for all ages and to support technical skills.”
