A government ban announced by the minister for Agriculture and Livestock on the imports of fresh produce should be extended into poultry products, meat and dairy and all cereals in order to trigger the establishment of our industries in order to create employment and sustaining our wealth instead of being dependant on imported food items. Australia remains as our largest exporter of food items in fresh food and processed food which we can produce locally with favorable weather conditions. Our thinking must shift from the colonial plantation economics where we are conditioned to using our prime land and labor producing cash crops, for foreign markets, which enslave us in the final end, as we use our revenues to buy imported food. After 40 years, we have matured in realising our mistakes and should redirect our land and land and labor to feeding ourselves first before all else. The revenue from our extractive industry should be invested into developing our food industry.
