Papua New Guinea's new police minister warns MPs to return missing public property.
More than half of the last parliament lost their seats at the recent national election.
The new police minister, Nixon Duban, says some of the losers and their staff have taken a significant amount of public property with them.
In a statement, he says everything from cars to photocopiers have disappeared and some electorates have been virtually stripped bare.
Mr Duban says people have seven days to return the items or they will be arrested and charged with misappropriation.
He added that over the last four decades MPs have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in their electorates but there is little to show for it. Radio Australia International
